Type of wine
Grapes for this wine come from our 70 hectares of vineyards situated in Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza) planted in 1910.
After closely following the grapes’ ripeness evolution, very strict selections were made in the vineyard. All of the vineyards were harvested by hand during the second and third week of April.
The alcoholic fermentation took place in small, temperature controlled stainless steel tanks of 20.000 Kg. capacity. During this process, the maximum temperature was 28oC and the total maceration time was 15 days. Afterwards, the 10% of the blend was aged in new French oak for 6 months.
Moncagua Malbec boats an attractive bright ruby colour. The aroma is intense and fresh with hints of wild red berries. It is a good body and pleasant wine with a fruity character and a well-balanced finish.
